These Terms govern your use of the FairTrip iOS app. By using FairTrip, you agree to these Terms and Apple's applicable licensed application terms.
1. The service
FairTrip helps individuals and groups record travel expenses, calculate balances, organize settlements, and maintain shared trip records. FairTrip is an organizational tool and does not transfer money, provide banking services, or act as a financial adviser.
2. Purchase and updates
FairTrip is offered as a one-time paid download. It does not require a recurring subscription and does not contain third-party advertising. Updates made available for the purchased app are provided without an additional FairTrip subscription charge. Apple controls App Store purchasing, refunds, availability, and download access under Apple's terms.
3. Accounts
You may use FairTrip locally or sign in through Apple or Google. You are responsible for maintaining control of your device and identity-provider account. You must provide accurate information and must not access another person's account without authorization.
4. Shared content
You are responsible for trip names, member details, expense records, notes, and other content you enter or share. Do not submit unlawful content or personal information you do not have permission to share. Other members of a synced trip can see the shared trip records.
5. Calculations and settlements
FairTrip's totals, balances, budgets, and suggested settlements depend on the information entered by users. Review all amounts before relying on them. A settlement marked in FairTrip is only a record; FairTrip does not confirm that funds were transferred.
Home-currency values are approximate estimates based on the latest available public reference rates. They may differ from cash, bank, card-network, or transaction rates and must not be used as the authoritative settlement amount. Trip records and settlement calculations remain in the selected trip currency.
6. Acceptable use
You may not misuse FairTrip, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, upload malicious content, abuse shared features, or use the service in violation of law or another person's rights.
7. Third-party services
FairTrip relies on services provided by Apple and Google, including the App Store, identity providers, Firebase, and Apple Maps, and on an external provider for public reference exchange rates. Those services are governed by their own terms and may occasionally be unavailable.
8. Availability and changes
Reasonable efforts are made to keep FairTrip reliable, but uninterrupted or error-free operation is not guaranteed. Features may change to improve the app, maintain security, comply with law, or address third-party service changes.
9. Disclaimer and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FairTrip is provided without guarantees beyond those that cannot legally be excluded. Christos Chronis is not responsible for losses caused by incorrect user-entered information, decisions based on app calculations, unauthorized account use, or third-party service interruption. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights.
10. Termination
You may stop using FairTrip at any time and may delete your account through the app. Access may be restricted where necessary to protect users, maintain security, or respond to misuse or legal requirements.
11. Intellectual property
FairTrip, its app design, code, icon, website, and related materials are owned by Christos Chronis or used under license. FairTrip is a trademark of Christos Chronis. These Terms do not grant rights to copy, redistribute, or create derivative commercial products from these materials.
